Bio

Zoe Fess belongs to the Hoocąk tribe and hails from Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. Growing up along the shores of the Wisconsin river in her community, she learned the importance of protecting the lands around her and the knowledge that her family gave her. After graduating high school, Zoe pursued her Bachelor’s in Environmental Studies and Sustainability from Northern Michigan University. After graduating, Zoe chose to continue her academic journey at the University of Wisconsin Madison and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Agroecology. Zoe also sits on the board of Wild Berries, a nonprofit that promotes food and seed sovereignty through community engagement.
